Join Knit-a-Gogo and designer Stefanie Japel for a three day luxury event and design workshop. Work along side famed designer Stefanie Japel (Glamypre Knits) to design your own top down raglan sweater using luxury fibers. This workshop will feature 8 hours of design time with Stefanie and several meals with the designer at the luxury four star, four diamond Kimpton property: the Morrison House in historic Old Town Alexandria.

You will be provided with a copy of Stefanie’s new book, Glam Knits: 25 Designs for Luxe Yarns. As a participant in the workshop, you will meet Stefanie during a private book signing and wine reception, hosted by Knit Happens.

6 p.m. - Private book signing with Stefanie Japel and wine reception hosted by Knit Happens

7 p.m. - Public book signing with Stefanie Japel

November 1

9-10:30 a.m. - Check in and breakfast at the Morrison House

10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. - Morning session

12:30 - 2 p.m. Lunch at the Morrison House

2 - 5 p.m. Afternoon session

November 2

9-10 a.m. - Brunch

10 a.m. - 1 p.m. Final session and tea break

Cost

$275 per person. Cost includes workshop, meals and complimentary copy of Glam Knits. Payment is due at time of registration and is not refundable. (although registration may be transferred). Register online!

Materials

Please select and swatch your luxury fiber selection prior to the retreat. Be sure to purchase enough yarn for a raglan sweater in your size plus some extra yarn to be safe. Knit Happens is offering a 10% discount on all materials purchased for this retreat. Simply show proof of registration.

Lodging

Lodging is not included in the registration fee, however lodging is available from the Morrison House, as well as several other area hotels within walking distance of the retreat and Knit Happens:

Getting there

All workshop events are located at Knit Happens and the Morrison House, which are located two blocks apart in Old Town Alexandria. Old Town can be reached via the King Street Metro station and the Morrison House is 7 blocks from the station. In addition, Old Town now offers free shuttle service from the metro station to various site within Old Town.

Street parking is available in Old Town and is free in the evenings and on Sundays. There are also several garages in the area.
